Family Sunday—Fierce and Fancy: Protecting the Heart
You’re invited to the Museum every Sunday for hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries. Each month’s activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme.
Throughout February learn about arms and armor, and artworks from around the world celebrating this month’s theme, Fierce and Fancy: The Art of Protection. In honor of Valentine’s Day, learn about how the ancient Egyptians protected their hearts in the afterlife with heart scarabs like the Heart Scarab of Khay in Gallery 313.
On February 12 imagine your own creation to protect your heart in this week’s hands-on art activity.
Contribute to a community armor artwork all month long!
