Family Sunday–Matisse and the Sea Opening Family Celebration
You’re invited to the Museum for Family Sunday! Enjoy hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries. Family Sunday activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme each time. This Family Sunday will be celebrating the opening weekend of the new ticketed exhibition Matisse and the Sea, drawing inspiration from sea creatures.
Family Sunday schedule
Mermaid Storyhour
1:30 pm: Visit and read a book with a mermaid with Amara Arts in Grigg Gallery. No sign-up needed.
WHoop Dee Doo Matisse Inspired Variety Show
2 pm, 3pm, and 4 pm: Experience the immersive world of Whoop Dee Doo as the Teen Arts Council transforms the Education Center into a Matisse painting replica with special guest performers from Dances of India. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Family TOUR
2:30 pm: Join us for a tour of connected artwork found in the Saint Louis Art Museum collection with a 30-minute Family Tour. Space is limited, and sign-up is required. Sign-up is available only on-site and begins at 1 pm in Sculpture Hall. The Family Tour leaves at 2:30 pm from Sculpture Hall.
