Family Sunday Opening Celebration—Inspired by Nature
Uncover the stories of the Museum’s collection on select Sunday afternoons with a gallery exploration and hands-on art activities. This week, explore how women Impressionists found inspiration in gardens, parks, and outdoor spaces. Look closely at art connected to Women Impressionists and the Land, dye a bandana with plants from Forest Park, sketch a still life, and try plein air painting as you create your own nature-inspired works.
Family Sunday schedule

About the artists
Tara Morton (she/her) is an artist and educator living in St. Louis. A self-described Jane-of-all-trades, she works in sculpture, textile arts, filmmaking, and much more. Morton earned a bachelor of fine arts, magna cum laude, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a master of fine arts degree in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has been a certified Missouri master naturalist since 2017. Learn more about Morton here.
Robin Haugen spent many years leading design and branding for global organizations, including FleishmanHillard and Maritz, before launching her own art business, neonrobin.com. During the pandemic, she began drawing with her mom over virtual lunch-break sessions. Sketching became her way to let go of perfectionism and build confidence, and today she helps others do the same. Haugen also leads marketing at Bowood Farms and runs The Studio, which offers art, plant, and lifestyle classes.
Dominique Begnaud is a registered art therapist, registered play therapist, and garden therapist who uses creative therapy techniques to support individuals of all ages in their mental health journey. She also loves to work within communities through speaking engagements, professional development, and activities that support education around mental health. Begnaud is the owner and sole therapist at Create Play Grow Therapy Services, a St. Louis City–based business that focuses on using creativity to support mental health.
