Family Sunday—Wendy Red Star: Pop Art Collages
You’re invited to the Museum every Sunday for hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries. Each week’s activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme.
Join us for a Family Sunday related to the free exhibition New to the Museum: Prints, Drawings, and Photographs in Gallery 235 and the Sidney S. and Sadie M. Cohen Gallery 234.
New to the Museum celebrates 65 new arrivals that have not yet been displayed. Enjoy works on view for the first time, including Red Rez Truck on Mint Green Background and Light Blue Rez House on Peach Background by Wendy Red Star. Drawing on her Apsáalooke (Crow) heritage, Red Star creates works that blur the lines between stereotype and reality in these photograph collages.
Create an accordion book inspired by Red Star’s juxtaposition of color and photograph.
Storytime
2 PM, Gallery 235
Enjoy two books by Indigenous authors and a close-looking activity in the gallery.
