Conversation—Gender and the Automobile
Join a panel of scholars as they discuss the pivotal role that gender played in the fashion, advertising, and automobile industries in interwar France. This conversation will highlight artworks in Roaring: Art, Fashion, and the Automobile in France, 1918–1939 and the accompanying catalogue.

About the program
Panelists include Pierre-Jean Desemerie, PhD candidate at Bard Graduate Center in New York; Daniel Marcus, curator of collections and exhibitions at the Columbus Museum of Art; and Sarah Berg, curatorial research assistant at the Saint Louis Art Museum. The program will be moderated by Genevieve Cortinovis, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Associate Curator of Decorative Arts and Design.
