Member Book Club Lecture—Botticelli’s Secret
Member Lectures are available exclusively to Museum Members. Join today.
Uncover Botticelli’s Secret with Clare Kobasa, associate curator of prints, drawings, and photographs, and Judith W. Mann, senior curator of European art to 1800.
Part detective story, part rich intellectual history, Joseph Luzzi’s Botticelli’s Secret: The Lost Drawings and the Rediscovery of the Renaissance investigates the 19th-century rediscovery of Sandro Botticelli’s Dante drawings, which brought scholars and art lovers to their knees.
Hidden within the Museum’s permanent collection lie two prints from this series. Join Kobasa and Mann as they illuminate these hidden gems and the role the Medici family played in Renaissance artworks.
Books may be purchased through the Museum Gift Shop. Members save 10 percent.
Advance tickets can be reserved in person or through MetroTix using your Member ticket code. All tickets reserved through MetroTix incur a service charge; the service charge is waived for tickets reserved at the Museum. While we cannot guarantee availability, we expect same-day tickets will be available for each of the lectures and book club events.
