Discover the world culture of handmade cloth with Nichole Bridges, Morton D. May Curator of the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas and Shaka Myrick, the 2021–2023 Romare Bearden Graduate Museum Fellow. 

A hidden gem! Bringing together handwoven Aso Oke cloth from the Museum’s collection and outstanding works from a local collector, Nichole and Shaka will discuss the distinctive techniques and convergence of tradition-based production and designs with new technologies as they developed across two centuries.
