From luminous paintings and divine sculpture to intricate tapestry and gilded silver chalices, this exhibition showcases the gorgeous display of Spanish American art from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Follow along with the exhibition curators through the arrival of the Spaniards in the Americas in the 15th century, and explore how the region developed complex artistic traditions that drew on Indigenous, European, Asian, and African art.
