About this year’s Picture the Music
During the 2025–26 school year, students listened and responded to the music of SLSO composer-in-residence Kevin Puts. The selected piece for this year’s program is Contact, “Codes” (Mvt. II). Teachers submitted selected artworks for a juried exhibition chosen by local artists and art educators. The one hundred pieces will be displayed in Powell Hall at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center March 19–29, including the concerts on March 20 and 22, when Contact will be performed. The one hundred artists will be honored in an award ceremony on March 25 at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center.
Following the SLAM display from March 31–April 12, the student artwork will be on view April 14–26 at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium.
