Public preview of Matisse and the Sea
Matisse and the Sea is the first exhibition to examine the significance of the sea across Modernist artist Henri Matisse’s career, which included artwork in coastal locations on the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, and the Pacific.
Celebrate the opening of Matisse and the Sea with free tickets to the exhibition and entertainment in Sculpture Hall. Joe Park & the Hot Club of St. Louis will perform many of the classics made famous by Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, as well as Park’s own original compositions. Artists from the Missouri Plein Air Painters’ Association will be live painting the atmosphere throughout Sculpture Hall. Drinks will be available at a cash bar.
Free exhibition tickets for this public preview are available on site only beginning at 3 pm.
Generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
