Starring an all-Black cast, this 1954 adaptation of George Bizet’s 1875 opera Carmen features Dorothy Dandridge and Harry Belafonte in leading roles. Dandridge made history as the first African American actress to be nominated for an Oscar for this performance. Not rated. 105 minutes.
