SLAM Cinema—Pauline at the Beach
This 1983 French romantic comedy focuses on the tangled love lives of vacationers at a seaside town in Normandy. Directed by Éric Rohmer, Pauline at the Beach (Pauline à la plage) received rave reviews, including in The New York Times, which praised the performances, cinematography, and the direction, which it called “another rare Rohmer treat.” The film stars Amanda Langlet, Arielle Dombasle, Pascal Greggory, Féodor Atkine, and Simon de La Brosse.
