SLAM Social—An Evening of Spanish Guitar
Start your Friday evening with a performance of Spanish music by guitarist Patrick Rafferty. Presented by Early Music Missouri, the performance will include Renaissance and Baroque dances and other music complementing Art and Imagination in Spanish America, 1500–1800. Enjoy drinks from a cash bar, and make sure to visit the exhibition, which is free on Fridays.

About the musician
An active performer and teacher, Patrick Rafferty concertizes across the Midwest and teaches in a variety of studio and classroom settings. A polished interpreter of the traditional guitar repertoire, he is equally at home in a wide range of popular and world music styles. Patrick recently extended his interests to early guitar repertoire and has offered concerts, lectures, and recitals on the history of the guitar across the region. His performances on Renaissance, Baroque, and 19th-century Romantic guitars include concerts for Early Music Missouri, St. Louis Classical Guitar, and the Budds Center for American Music Studies.
