About the Living with Art program

The Living with Art Family Workshop Series is designed to connect with families who are new to the Museum or who have not visited in more than a year, empowering them as art collectors, creators, and community ambassadors. For the 2025 program, Museum educators partnered with Community Health Worker Coalition; Mission: St. Louis; the Deaconess Foundation; and Ava + Mommy to support families impacted by the May 16 tornado. Impacted families were invited to participate in the program aimed at exploring art as a form of healing. Through the hybrid program, families took home an artwork by Marquis Terrell and a creative kit designed to spark reflection and togetherness in the home. Participants later reunited at the Museum to share their experiences and explore the Museum’s collection.

The Living with Art Family Workshop series is supported by The Dana Brown Endowed Fund for Education and Community Programs.

The Art on the Move program is supported by the Ronald M. and Monique M. Ollie Education Endowment Fund for Abstraction by Black Artists.
