Stone Sea Guided Experience

September 5, 2023 | 11–11:30 am CDT | $10 ($5 for Members)

Gain new perspectives on Andy Goldsworthy’s Stone Sea as you walk throughout this large-scale outdoor sculpture. During this 20-minute guided experience, a SLAM docent will provide insights into this work of art while you explore the sculpture. Please read the guidelines below before purchasing your ticket.

Know before you go

  • Tickets are for timed entry. Early or late entries cannot be accommodated. Check in at your scheduled time with the SLAM representative posted on Level 1 near the Museum Cafe.
  • Because this experience involves walking on uneven, outdoor surfaces, flat shoes are required and tours are weather dependent. If the Museum cancels due to inclement weather, tickets will be refunded.
  • Wheelchairs can be used while viewing the sculpture. Because some areas of the sculpture have narrow passageways, visitors who use walkers, crutches, or other supports are encouraged to use a complimentary SLAM wheelchair while viewing the sculpture. Strollers are not allowed inside the sculpture, but they can be parked nearby while viewing the work of art.

Ticket information

Tickets for the on-site program may be reserved in person at the Museum’s Information Centers or through MetroTix. All tickets reserved through MetroTix incur a service charge; the service charge is waived for tickets reserved at the Museum.
