Teacher Workshop—Plein Air Painting

In this workshop, teachers will tour Women Impressionists and the Land with Simon Kelly, curator of modern and contemporary art, who organized the exhibition. Attendees will learn about the way in which landscape and nature imagery contributed to the rise in status of women artists in France from 1860–1910. Following the tour, workshop participants will go outdoors to learn about and make plein air watercolor paintings. Educators will leave the workshop equipped with ideas for how to connect the exhibition to classroom curriculum.

Registration is required for this free event. Space is limited, and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation. A boxed meal and materials will be provided.
