Teacher Workshop: DJing and Turntabling

Current and preservice teachers are invited to join us for a Teacher Workshop inspired by the exhibition The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century, on view at the Saint Louis Art Museum from August 19, 2023, to January 1, 2024.

Following a visit to the exhibition, DJ Chris Brown, founder of Spin Society DJs, will introduce workshop participants to elements of DJing, mixing, and turntabling, and facilitate a hands-on workshop to help participants gain familiarity with the art form and make connections to the exhibition, St. Louis hip hop, and other relevant curricula that they can share with students.

Dinner and materials will be provided. Enrollment is free. Space is limited, and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation. Complete the teacher workshop application using the Register button to submit an enrollment request.
