Teacher Workshop: Exploring Monet/Mitchell in Connection with Local St. Louis Landscapes
Join us for an educator workshop inspired by the exhibition Monet/Mitchell: Painting the French Landscape. The workshop will begin with a tour of the exhibition, which will be on view at the Museum beginning March 25. The group will then visit St. Louis’s Tower Grove Park to learn about local water lily cultivation and propagation from park horticulturists, engage with hands-on activities, and discover stories of the Tower Grove Park landscape. The workshop will finish with a visual exploration of the park through painting and drawing. Throughout the day, educators will gain resources and ideas for connecting curricula with the work of Claude Monet, Joan Mitchell, and local St. Louis stories and landscapes.
Participants must arrange their own transportation from the Museum to Tower Grove Park. Lunch and materials will be provided. Enrollment is free. Space is limited, and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation.
