About the workshop
Participants will visit and learn about Grounded in Clay: The Spirit of Pueblo Pottery, an exhibition featuring more than 100 clay works created by Pueblo artists from the precontact era to the present day. Following the exhibition, participants will engage in a hands-on workshop led by a contemporary artist and member of the Pueblo Pottery Collective, Jason Garcia – Okuu Pin. The workshop will focus on storytelling, drawing, and intersections of popular culture with personal narrative (please note: this is not a ceramics workshop). Educators will receive links to resources related to the exhibition and ideas for integrating concepts from the workshop into classroom curricula.
