Teacher Workshop—Visual Storytelling

Teachers, join us for a workshop where you will learn directly from Victor Ekpuk, whose work is featured in the Narrative Wisdom and African Arts exhibition catalogue.
A boxed meal and materials for the workshop will be provided.

About the Workshop
Teachers will visit the exhibition and then be guided through an interactive workshop, led by Ekpuk, that will explore collaborative drawings with symbols, signs, and marks. Participants will learn to build a composition together while turning symbols into stories. Attendees will leave with a completed artwork as well as strategies to continue exploring the methods demonstrated, both independently and with students.
Current and preservice educators are invited to enroll. Enrollment is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation.
