The Recruits Youth Chorus Performance
As part of SLAM’s Festive Fridays celebration, The Recruits Youth Chorus will perform festive choral music.
No tickets are required for this free program. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
About the performers
The Recruits Youth Chorus is an a cappella ensemble that was created under the umbrella of the Ambassadors of Harmony with the sole purpose of creating a supported outlet for youth a cappella in and around the St. Louis area. Once a men-only group, the chorus has taken on a new form by turning the Recruits into a mixed chorus. With a strong emphasis on singing in the barbershop style, the chorus also performs choral, jazz, and contemporary a cappella music.
The mission of the chorus is to inspire and educate young people in a cappella music. The Recruits Youth Chorus was created to increase awareness of a cappella music while educating young people in this uniquely American art form. Members of the Ambassadors of Harmony Chorus assist by serving as directors, section leaders, and arrangers.
