Virtual Program—Buzz Spector: Alterations
With the artist and Hannah Klemm, associate curator of modern and contemporary art, and Elizabeth Wyckoff, curator of prints, drawings, and photographs
Contemporary Art Society Members are invited to enjoy a conversation celebrating the exhibition Buzz Spector: Alterations on view in Galleries 234 and 235 through May 31. Spector, an internationally recognized conceptual artist, taught painting, sculpture, and two-dimensional design at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis for a decade before retiring in 2019. His work explores the aesthetic possibilities of language, paper, and books; this exhibition spans the artist’s career from the 1970s to the present, and includes drawings, altered books, postcard assemblages, collages, and more.
