Virtual Teacher Workshop: Damon Davis
Current and pre-service teachers are invited to join us for a virtual Teacher Workshop with Damon Davis, a Saint Louis native and a nationally renowned multi-media artist, filmmaker, and musician whose All Hands On Deck series is currently on view at the Saint Louis Art Museum. During the virtual event, Davis will discuss his artistic process, current projects, and arts-based activism while sharing aspects of his studio via Zoom. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions throughout the program. Following Davis’s artist talk, SLAM educators will guide participants through a hands-on art making activity inspired by Davis’s art practice. Participants will also have the opportunity to share ideas and resources with fellow educators.
The workshop will be held via Zoom meeting. Participants will have the ability to share video and audio. Enrollment is free and open to active and pre-service educators on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation. Enrollment requests are due no later than February 21, 2022.
Teachers will need to prepare a modest amount of materials for the art activity. Please contact teacherprograms@slam.org with questions.
