Winter Celebrations is the Museum’s annual family-friendly festival highlighting cultures and holiday traditions from around the world. This year’s event will continue virtually from December 10–January 1, with on-demand videos and other activities for the entire family to enjoy together.

Explore containers from around the world that were made for preparing, storing, and sharing food, and then weave a placemat for your table using materials found at home.

During this time of year, people from around the world often gather together with friends and family to share special celebrations and meals. Use this scavenger hunt to explore art related to feasting found throughout the Museum.
Wee Wednesdays
Learn about unique objects from around the world, and create a handmade card to share with someone special.
Discover works of art inspired by light and darkness, and create your own shadow puppet theater using materials from home.
Contemplate peace and harmony in unique objects from the collection, and then create your own paper chain to spread messages of peace in your community.
