Ingredients
½ cup butter or coconut oil, softened
½ cup honey or maple syrup
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 cups flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder

Optional:

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon or cardamom
2 teaspoons of mixed nuts or seeds

Cooking instructions

Step 1
With the help of an adult, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Step 2
Beat honey and butter together with a whisk or electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour, baking powder, and cardamom, making mixture into a dough. Roll dough into 1 teaspoon balls.
Step 3
Pour seeds onto a plate. Press each dough ball to a 1/4 thickness in the seeds, coating half of each ball, then place flattened dough seed-up on a greased baking sheet.
Step 4
Bake until edges are golden, approximately 20 minutes. Take cakes out of the oven and let them rest for 10-20 minutes, then enjoy!
