ST. LOUIS, Jan. 9, 2024 — The Saint Louis Art Museum’s annual festival of fine art and fresh flowers returns Friday, March 1 through Sunday, March 3.

Art in Bloom is open to the public starting at 10 am every day of the festival; museum members can come as early 8 am. It’s free to tour the galleries, but tickets for special Art in Bloom programs go on sale Jan. 30 at the museum or via MetroTix. Tickets for members are on sale now.

During this free celebration, dozens of floral designers from across the region will reimagine specific works of art in SLAM’s collection through floral arrangements. The weekend will also include several related events.

A preview party Thursday, Feb. 29 will kick off the weekend, featuring fine food, live music and an exclusive first viewing of the inventive creations of Art in Bloom. Individual tickets are $175 per person and available at slam.org/bloom.

On Friday, March 1, there will be a free and fragrant competition between teams of floral designers trying to beat the clock in a series of creative challenges. Floral Frenzy is open to the public and takes place at 6 pm in the museum’s Farrell Auditorium.

Doan Ly will give Art in Bloom’s featured lecture Saturday, March 2 in the auditorium. Ly is the founder and artistic director of a.p. bio floral design and photography studio in New York City. She will discuss her multidisciplinary practice and demonstrate her creative process in floral design. Tickets are $25; members pay $15.

Ly will also be creating a special floral installation called Forsythia Fields in Sculpture Hall that will be on view during the entire festival.

Conclude the weekend with the family at Art in Bloom Family Florals beginning at noon on Sunday, March 3. Festivities will feature hands-on art activities and special interactive components that explore the world of pollinators. Family Florals will continue until 4 pm.

Due to high attendance, parking near the museum is limited. A free shuttle will be available every 20 minutes during the festival between the museum and the free lots near Forest Park’s Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center.

The museum’s Panorama restaurant will offer lunch and dinner buffets each day: lunch on Friday and Saturday will be available 10 am to 2 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. Dinner will be available on Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm. Reservations are recommended at 314-655-5490. Lunch is $25 ($21 for members), and dinner is $48 ($42 for members). A Flowers After Hours ticket is required for the Saturday dinner buffet. Lighter fare is available during museum hours at the café.
