This annual teacher workshop is presented in partnership with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis
How does visual art inspire music? And how does music inspire visual art?
Flex your creative side by joining Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and the Saint Louis Art Museum in this interdisciplinary workshop, where you will learn how to create an original piece of music inspired by a work of art. National trainer and composer Neil Ginsberg will lead the workshop along with educators from the Saint Louis Art Museum. Teachers will walk away with strategies and processes for leading this creative exercise in the classroom! As part of the workshop, teachers will work in small groups to compose a short piece of music and create visual props or other elements. The workshop is open to teachers across disciplines and all levels of experience with music or visual art.
Enrollment is free. Space is limited to 30 participants, and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation. Refreshments and materials will be provided.
