14th Annual Young Artists Exhibition:
The Edge of What’s Next

Thank you for your interest. The submission window for the call for entry is now closed. All applicants will be contacted individually through email. We look forward to seeing everyone at the opening reception on Friday, May 1, 2026.

OPEN CALL:

The Saint Louis Art Museum invited St. Louis–area teens ages 13–19 to submit up to three artworks exploring the theme “The Edge of What’s Next.”

This year, the Teen Arts Council was especially looking for art that invites participation—artworks that prompt action, that viewers can interact with, or that viewers can add to. Interactive artworks were given special consideration during the jurying process.

  • What memories and feelings surface when you think about something coming to an end?
  • Can an ending also be a beginning?
  • What’s something from your childhood that you find yourself missing lately?
  • In what ways can making art help you process change or closure?
  • What are you most looking forward to as a chapter of your life closes?
  • Does your artwork have an ending, or does it keep evolving through audience interaction?

The exhibition will be on view beginning May 1, 2026 in the Saint Louis Art Museum’s Student Gallery. The deadline to submit is Sunday, February 15, 2026.
