Museum Shop

The Museum Shop offers volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in retail sales. Interested individuals must have a high school diploma and cash register and sales experience. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are available. For more information, contact debbie.boyer@slam.org.

Visitor and Member Services

Visitor and Member Services offers volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in customer service. Interested individuals must have strong customer services skills, and a high school diploma is preferred. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are available. For more information, contact volunteer@slam.org.

Docents

Docents deepen the visitor's experience by leading tours that communicate their knowledge and passion for the collection with school groups and visitors of all ages. Candidates must be willing to commit to a two-year initial training program, ongoing training, and a minimum of 25 tours per year. The Museum plans to begin accepting applications for the next new docent class following the public opening of the Museum Expansion, anticipated in 2013.

Year-Round Marketing Internships

The Museum's Marketing and Audience Development Department offers year-round internships for college Juniors and Seniors in the areas of Public Relations, Marketing, Photography, and Editorial. Please submit a cover letter, resume, current GPA, and three writing samples to publicrelations@slam.org for consideration.

Family Programs

The Museum's Public Programs and Education Department offers volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in art education and community outreach. Interested individuals must be at least 16 years of age and must be able to commit one or more Sunday afternoon a month. For more information, contact volunteer@slam.org.
