ASK A LIBRARIAN

Please email library@slam.org if you would like information on a work of art in the Saint Louis Art Museum's collection. Note that the library is unable to provide any value information on works of art in the museum's collection.

If you would like the library staff to research art that you own, please include the artist's name, title, date, and medium of the work, if known. If you do not know the artist's name or if your question is about a work of decorative art, a visit to use the library's research collection is recommended. The library staff is available at 314.665.5252, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00 pm. Please allow about a week for us to research your request. The Art Research Service is free.

The Museum does not appraise works of art. To find a qualified appraiser, contact the Society of American Appraisers, 800.272.8258, www.appraisers.org; the Appraisers Association of America, 212.889.5404, www.appraiserassoc.org; or the International Society of Appraisers, 888.472.4732, www.isa-appraisers.org
