NOTES
This distinctive headdress includes a large lotus blossom, two upright feathers at the center, and necklace counterweights at the sides to form the characteristic crown of Nefertem, a creator god. The lotus, which opens each morning in the sun’s rays and then closes at dusk, was associated with the sun and birth, and became an emblem of Nefertem.
