NOTES
Paper cut in a variety of shapes and colors dance across the page in this large collage. In the 1970s, Imi Knoebel began employing his technique of seemingly random arrangements of cut colored paper known as “Messerschnitt,” or “knife cuts.” Knoebel’s work explores the intersection of painting and sculpture, examining the relationship between space, form, and color.
