NOTES
Opaque and translucent, polished and matte, light and dark—this trapezoidal glass mass is an exercise in opposites. In Space VI, a hollow diagonal light well permeates its center, allowing the seemingly solid mass to glow from within. Departing from vessel forms, pioneering Czech artists Jaroslava Brychtová and Stanislav Libenský attracted international attention for their monumental geometric cast-glass sculpture, such as this example.
