[1] During a November 11, 2016 telephone conversation between Marshall Mount and curator Nichole Bridges, Mount stated he purchased this object in 1961 from an art dealer in Ibadan named Obayemi. A Deed of Gift signed by Marshall and Caroline Mount on December 26, 2016 documents the gift of this object, identified as "Osanyin Puppet." The Deed of Gift further states the donor purchased the object in 1961 from "Abayemi, a dealer of art in Ibadan, Nigeria" [notes of telephone conversation between Marshall Mount and curator Nichole Bridges, November 11, 2016 and Deed of Gift in SLAM document files].
