Wirering Wall Lamp

This wall lamp is pared down to two essential elements: an electrical wire and an aluminum ring lined with a flexible LED strip. When assembled, the stretched loop of cord becomes a sculptural projection casting a glowing circle of light bisected by a soft shadow. Wirering is the first industrially produced object by conceptual and research-based design studio Formafantasma. An evocation of lunar illumination achieved with accessible LED technology, it lights “the world with brightness, but also with the intimacy of shadow.”
