The No Place for Hate® program by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is a school-wide, student-led initiative that aims to promote inclusivity and equity in schools. The ADL assists school coordinators in tailoring program content to meet the unique needs of each school. In collaboration with the ADL, the Saint Louis Art Museum offers a specialized museum visit intended to support the goals of No Place for Hate®.
The visit to the Saint Louis Art Museum as part of the No Place for Hate® program is a guided tour for students in grades 6–12. During the tour, students view art from different cultures and time periods, which serve as a catalyst for discussions on biases and exploring ways to advocate for positive change. Prior to the visit, school coordinators liaise with Museum educators to ensure the tour aligns with their school’s objectives.

School Tour - Arrowpoint Elementary
What's Your Superpower?
“What’s your superpower?” is the question we’ll be exploring during the museum tour.
Through the use of their personal skills and talents, students will discover how they can become confident and brave allies and play an active role in unifying their communities, reducing hate, and increasing allyship. They’ll consider the ways they’re already equipped to make positive changes in their school and community. The No Place for Hate® Museum visit offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with works of art and have meaningful conversations about historic and contemporary biases. Through these discussions, students can identify and nurture their own superpowers, including their skills, talents, and abilities. Students will be inspired by stories of artists and artworks from different cultures and time periods and participate in activities that invite students to uncover their own personal strengths. As the tour comes to a close, students will receive additional prompts and activities to support their ongoing efforts in building an inclusive school climate.

The Saint Louis Art Museum provides transportation assistance to visit SLAM for qualifying schools based on need and availability of funds.
